History of Targin
Explore the events, discoveries, conflicts, and stories that shaped Targin.
Vaer speaks the world of Targin into existence and creates humans in a beautiful valley in the land of Illun. Eala from a neighboring valley disobey Vaer and fall. These Eala become the Eara and persuade the humans into leaving their valley on a road Vaer commanded them not to go on. The humans are separated from Vaer and the sea rises, threatening their lives. Vaer mercifully provides a great bridge across the sea for the humans, leading them to the main continent of Targin.
Humans spread out over Targin and form three peoples: the Halsun, the Emprimites, and the Haelde. The world falls into a cycle of violence so brutal that Vaer destroys Targin with the Ice River. Only one Haeldan family listens to Vaer and stays camped on Summer Rock. The rock does not freeze and the family survives.
After the Ice River recedes to a single stream down the center of Targin, the Haelde spread out and form a League. Vaer gives them flowers to tend to and the Code Arguna—teaching them how to live and telling them of a coming saviour for all Targin. The Haelde League remains peaceful for two centuries, then they allow the flowers to die and reject Vaer’s ways. The Eara rise to power once again and the Haelde fight amongst themselves.
The Haeldans flee to all corners of Targin. Some travel far to the west and are never seen again. The Dogor emerge from the mountains near the Ice River. A great war is fought between the Haelde and the Dogor. The Dogor are defeated and many of them flee southward forming Gholax and the scattered tribes of Daugin.
The Gholaxians form a great empire and rule the world. Vaer himself comes and dies for all Targin, fulfilling what was spoken of in the Age of the Haelde. The world is never the same afterwards. The Dogors regain power and divert the Ice River upon the Gholaxians. The Gholaxians soon disappear without a trace. The Tellibites begin rising in the northeast.
The Ëlarra people struggle to survive after the Haelde destroy their village. The Sword is forged and obsessed over for generations. This is the time of Feerdën, Farsasala, and Aarpo.
The Daugin begin consolidating into a people and form a coalition. Many myths about the ancient world arise and Vaer’s sacrifice is almost forgotten. Only a few hold on to the memory of Vaer, and the rest of the world falls into a similar state.
The Frali people are discovered in the southeast and the Daugin begin trading with them. Passengers of a lost Daugin ship found Daugia. Daugia rises in strength but is continually stifled by internal conflict.
A brutal Daugian king is overthrown by scouts and they bring peace for a century. The Tellibites invade Daugia. In response, the modern Scouts are created and drive out the Tellibites. Daugia rises to world dominance and is at peace for centuries.
The ancient kingdom of Daugia begins to collapse. The Scouts slowly crumble under betrayal and the rising power of Velcorae archers.
Vaer brings an end to Daugia for their embrace of the Eara. Velcorae archers are on the rise to replace the Scouts. The world is unstable and Tellibie invades Daugia again. Many wonder what shall become of Targin, and what Vaer shall do next.
